This paper is a part of Stage 3 in the MPAcct programme where students undertake a professional internship within an accounting workplace environment. Similar to the research project paper, the rationale for this internship paper is that students will be able to apply their knowledge and learning in a real life situation.

This paper will give students the opportunity to gain confidence in a professional environment. Students will be engaged in more insightful learning through the application of critical thinking and problem solving skills in the professional internship paper. Students will need to choose between the Research Project or Professional Internship paper in Stage 3 of the Master of Professional Accounting programme to complete this qualification.

Students who successfully complete the paper should be able to:

  • 1. Undertake a professional internship that enables students to learn about professional practice in the accounting sector.
