Paper Description

Edit Paper Description Content

This paper is a continuation of CHINE131, and focuses on the four skills of listening, speaking, reading and writing the Chinese language at an elementary level.

As a continuation of CHINE131, this paper will enable you to develop further your basic Chinese vocabulary and grammar. By the end of the trimester, you will have learned about days and dates, and the Chinese money system, and you should be able to conduct a simple conversation and write in Chinese characters on everyday topics, such as your family, going shopping, visiting the doctor, and renting accommodation.

During the trimester, we will cover lessons 8-13 of the New Practical Chinese Reader Textbook 1.

Classes will be held face-to-face. However, due to the ongoing uncertainty over COVID, students who are off-campus will be able to join classes via zoom. All tests will be held online, and assignments will be submitted via Moodle.
