What this paper is about
This paper is a continuation of CHINE131, and focuses on the four skills of listening, speaking, reading and writing the Chinese language at an intermediate level.
As a continuation of CHINE131, this paper will enable you to develop further your Chinese vocabulary and grammar. By the end of the trimester, you will have learned about days and dates, and the Chinese money system, and you should be able to conduct a simple conversation and write/type in Chinese characters on everyday topics, such as your family, going shopping, visiting the doctor, and renting accommodation.
How this paper will be taught
During the trimester, we will cover lessons 8-13 of New Practical Chinese Reader (2nd ed.) Vol. 1 Textbook.
Classes will be held face-to-face, and we strongly encourage students to choose this option, in order to get the best learning experience. Students who need to be off-campus will be able to join classes via zoom. As this language paper is highly interactive, classes will not be recorded, due to student privacy issues. All tests will be held online, and students will have the choice of submitting assignments either in class or via Moodle.
