This paper is a continuation of CHINE231-21A.

This is an intermediate Chinese language paper designed for students who have taken the paper CHINE231 or its equivalent. It takes an integrated approach involving all four skills of listening, speaking, reading, and writing.

本课程是二年级上汉语课的继续,选修该课程必须具有相当于大学中文专业二年级上的汉语水平。本课程旨在全面提高学习者的听、说、读、写能力。

This paper will be offered in FLEXI mode, which means that students have the option of attending classes face to face or by Zoom. As it is a language paper, however, we always recommend that you attend in person to get the most out of your class.

The teaching structure of this paper is based on Lessons 19-24 in New Practical Chinese Reader Textbook 2 (2nd Ed.). Each lesson introduces Chinese characters, sentence patterns, grammar points and pragmatics in conversations.
