Paper Description
This paper addresses some of the fundamental skills necessary to work in Media and Creative Industries. As such it is split into two halves. The first half of the trimester concentrates on the arts, and creating content, while the second half has a more technical focus. The paper assessments are cumulative, drawing together the technical and creative aspects studied.
Although this is a 'flexi' paper, we advise students to attend in person as much as possible, and to consider on a deeper level exactly what you might learn (and how) on different platforms, as they each will give an entirely different experience.
Paper Structure
The paper consists of one lecture per week and one tutorial per week. There are three tutorial streams, and each student will be assigned to one of the tutorial streams. It is possible to change streams if there is a clash by contacting the tutor.
This paper will have a variety of lecturers presenting material, from a wide range of disciplines.
Please note that the content structure of the paper is indicative, and some elements may change according to circumstance.
Learning Outcomes
Students who successfully complete the paper should be able to:
Assessment
Assessment tasks are cumulative, so each task builds on the task before. This means students need to complete one task to move onto the next.
There will also be formative tasks, designed to support learning.
Assessment Components
The internal assessment/exam ratio (as stated in the University Calendar) is 100:0. There is no final exam.
