What this paper is about

Edit What this paper is about Content

This paper explores specifically the ethical issues that arise in communicating in a variety of contexts and channels. It gives students the necessary foundation in communication ethics to prepare them to be responsible communicators in the workplace, and negotiate the ethical tensions and dilemmas of human communication.

The paper guides students through the complexity of ethical issues in communication contexts through lectures, readings, discussions, case studies, exercises, and personal engagement with communicating ethically.

How this paper will be taught

Edit How this paper will be taught Content

This paper has a two-hour lecture session and a one-hour tutorial session each week. The lecture sessions will be a mix of content delivery and interactive class discussions while the tutorials will focus on activities, exercises, and review of content. As the paper is offered in a FLEXI format, each lecture session will be face-to-face in a lecture room on campus as well as via Zoom simultaneously. Most (but not necessarily all) parts of the lecture sessions will be recorded. However, students must attend and participate in each session to get the most out of the content covered in class.

Students need to choose one of the two tutorials offered every week. One of the tutorials will be face-to-face in Room MSB 1.21 on campus at the time specified in the timetable while the other will be offered via Zoom at the other time specified in the timetable. The tutorials are not recorded.
