Paper Description
An introduction to the field of user experience design where students develop skills and techniques for the design and evaluation of computer interfaces. Topics include: interface design principles, techniques for gathering requirements, scenarios, personas, software prototyping, evaluation of interfaces, accessibility and internationalisation. Students will explore user experience design through a practical project.

Assessment
The main Project is in 3 Phases:
- Phase I: Understanding Users
- Phase II: Scenarios, Personas and Prototyping
- Phase III: Prototype Development (individual + group)
Assessment Components
The internal assessment/exam ratio (as stated in the University Calendar) is 67:33. The final exam makes up 33% of the overall mark.

Workload
There is one tutorial hour each week (tutorials begin in week 3). On average students are expected to spend about 7 hours per week on reading, thinking, and doing assignments, in addition to attending the lectures and tutorials.
