Paper Description

Edit Paper Description Content

An introduction to the field of user experience design where students develop skills and techniques for the design and evaluation of computer interfaces. Topics include: interface design principles, techniques for gathering requirements, scenarios, personas, software prototyping, evaluation of interfaces, accessibility and internationalisation. Students will explore user experience design through a practical project.

The learning outcomes for this paper are linked to Washington Accord graduate attributes WA1-WA11. Explanation of the graduate attributes can be found at: https://www.ieagreements.org/

Assessment

Edit Assessments Content

The main Project is in 3 Phases:

  • Phase I: Understanding Users
  • Phase II: Scenarios, Personas and Prototyping
  • Phase III: Prototype Development (individual + group)
All coursework is to be completed on an individual basis - unless otherwise specified. Phase III will be a combination of individual and group work. The work will involve analysis, design, implementation and evaluation. Student marks for group work may be adjusted based on contributions to their group.
