The paper provides students with an understanding of scientific and culture-specific perspectives on computing and mathematical science issues and the ability to apply these in diverse contexts.

Tutorials will be held in weeks 3, 5, 6, 8, 10, and 12. Lectures will include some interactive elements as well as conventional lecture-style presentation of material.
Teaching weeks 1 - 4 and 9 - 12 will be delivered by FMCS staff. Weeks 5 - 8 will be delivered by FMIS staff.

Readings, videos, and other supplementary learning material will be posted to Moodle. Students will have access to a discussion forum on the Moodle site which is monitored by the lecturers and tutors.

Students are expected to attend two, one hour lectures per teaching week and to participate in six, two hour tutorials. On average students are expected to spend about 9 hours per week on reading, thinking, and doing quizzes, in addition to attending the lectures and tutorials.
