Paper Description
This paper develops the student's ability to recognise and utilise the basic elements and principles of design. Students learn about the design process and design methodology through practical exercises and critique. This process also teaches students to look at, see and interpret their environment from a design perspective, developing aesthetic awareness and critical judgment. Students will work in both traditional and digital media.

All assignments have to be accompanied by research and process, appropriate research documentation and visual process (sketches, previous versions of work, sources of inspiration, etc). Work needs to be checked in class before hand-in to prove originality.
Assessment Components
The internal assessment/exam ratio (as stated in the University Calendar) is 100:0. There is no final exam.
