How this paper will be taught

Edit How this paper will be taught Content
The paper consists of a weekly lecture and two design studios or workshops (select Stream A or Stream B), each spanning over 2 hours. These studios form the primary work environment, with guidance and supervision provided to the students. In addition to working on design tasks, students are expected to attend critique sessions, complete assignment checkpoints, and attempt practical tasks. Regular attendance is crucial, and records will be kept and considered as part of the final grade for Professional Practice.

How you will be assessed

Edit How you will be assessed Content

The assessment for this paper is based on the completion of the assignments (both in-class activities and physical submission of work), as well as on your professional conduct throughout the course. Each assessment component is associated with a grading schedule that conforms to the University Grade Scales.

Hand-in of assignments will be in person according to the instructions provided in each specific assignment brief. These requirements will also be posted on the DSIGN141 Moodle page and reminders given during lab sessions. The target turnaround time for the grading of assignments will be three semester weeks. Assignments that have been graded may be collected from the lecturer.

Assignments must include research and process, along with appropriate references and visual aids, such as sketches, previous versions of work, and sources of inspiration, to demonstrate the originality of your work. You are not allowed to use work created by others without proper acknowledgement or to use AI-assisted tools without citing the sources and obtaining permission from your lecturer. Failure to comply with these guidelines may result in academic penalties or charges of plagiarism.
