This paper enables students to apply principles of design and design elements to systematic information hierarchies, environmental graphics, advanced publications and multimedia documents. The paper will allow students to explore the relationship between theory and practice, including their own practice, as well as provide methodology and support for research in design.

Studios will be dedicated to critiquing and class-wide participation. An important part of this time will be group & individual critique sessions and tutorials.

* Studnet who are unable to be present on campus will be invited to online session in the allocated studio time or organised relevant teleconferencing session in their own discretion.

* Screen recording of in lab deformation will ve available on moodle.

Students who successfully complete the paper should be able to:

  • LO1:

    Apply design principles to problem solving exercises and assignments. Develop good conceptual skills through expanding both design vocabulary and awareness of the principles involved in effective visual communication. Successfully apply semiotic principles and study how other designers have approached various problem-solving scenarios.
