Paper Description
This paper covers the design, operation and management of unit processes used in environmental engineering including air, pollution water, wastewater, stormwater, solid waste, contaminated land, noise, treatment and control.

Paper Structure
The course will be taught using a combination of lectures, tutorials, reading, laboratory and field work .
Important Note for International Students: For international students in New Zealand under student visas, regular attendance is part of your visa obligation and is checked as a requirement on the University under the Code of Practice for the Pastoral Care of International Students, to which the University is a signatory. The internal assessment/exam ratio (as stated in the University Calendar) is 50:50. The final exam makes up 50% of the overall mark.

Workload
3 Lectures per week for 12 weeks. 4 three hour labs and 4 three hour field trips over the 12 weeks. 10-12 hours per week reading, assignments and independent study.
