Ka matapakitia ngā kōrero teitei a te Māori, ana kupu whakanikoniko kei ana mōteatea, kei ana apakura me ana poroporoaki. Ko te tino whāinga o tēnei pepa, ko te whakamahi i te auaha o te tauira ki te waihanga rotarota, pao, kōrero pūrākau, i roto i te reo Māori, i roto hoki i te reo Pākehā.

I te mutunga o tēnei akomanga, ka tū te tauira ki te pao i tana pao, ki te kōrero i tana rotarota, ki te pātere i tana pātere, me te whakapuaki i ana whakaaro i mua i te marea. Hei konei ka kitea te mauri ahutoi o te tauira.

This course is intended for students who have completed MAORI212 or have equivalent or higher Māori language proficiency like MAORI311. The emphasis will be on developing oral and critical skills in the use of the Māori language with particular attention on the critical examination and understanding of composition styles, including performance of poetic genres.

Hei konei ka kitea te taumata kua eke te tauira

The objective of this class is to release the creative potential of the student.

At the completion of this paper the tauira will present orally their new oral works in a public setting.

Their performance and the presentation by the tauira of the new works will be testament to level that the student has attained in this discipline.
