Assessment

Edit Assessments Content

Attendance at rehearsals is crucial for a student to receive a good passing grade. Rehearsals culminate in public performances and it is important that all members of the ensemble are familiar with the works to be performed, and can contribute to the success of the performance. The final grade will be a culmination of attendance record and the advance on skill levels in the rehearsals and the concert.

During the preparation for each of the choir concerts, or immediately after the concert, a short, individual vocal test will be given on the work just performed. This will test whether the student has known the music and therefore made a fair contribution. Failure in this test, and/or the failure to attend rehearsals will result in a fail grade for that assessment..

If you are, in exceptional circumstances, unable to make a rehearsal, you must communicate with the Director of the ensemble, in advance. Sending a message with a classmate in insufficient. Failure to attend a concert is an instant fail for the course.
