This paper draws on critical and ecological approaches to examine social psychological knowledge and its contribution to understanding the challenges and impacts of poverty, inequality, discrimination, privilege and power across diverse Aotearoa.

Lecturers contributing to this course are: Dr Mohi Rua, Dr Ottilie Stolte, Dr Jaimie Veale, and Dr Apo Aporosa from the University of Waikato. Guest lecturers include Professor Darrin Hodgetts (Societal Psychologist, Massey University), Dr Neville Robertson (Community Psychologist) and Dr Ingrid Huygens (Community Psychologist / Treaty of Waitangi practitioner).

Lecture Timetable: Online teaching due to Covid19. This means that lecturers will video their lectures and upload them to Moodle for your consumption. These videos will be available every Tuesday at 1pm.

For courses with 100+ students like ours, the University has directed us to move lectures online. This means there will be no traditional lectures, where you turn up to a lecture room and sit with fellow students and a lecturer in front of you. Please ignore the Online Timetable which has a lecture day and time.

Lab times: See schedule of weekly lab times. These will be face to face labs on campus to discuss the lecture material and readings for that week. The University allows labs to proceed because of smaller numbers.

Moodle Participation: Online Moodle mastery tests - 10 tests in total, but only the top 8 scores will count towards overall assessment.
