Paper Structure
Classes will be run as workshops full of interactive content.
Your own pre-arranged placement organisational experiences will be integrated and shared in classes.
Be ready to lead by example with the in-class opportunities offered.

- 60 hours of Placement in sport, recreation and exercise industry
- Associated completed documents (Learning contract, professional and personal learning objectives, activity hours log and evaluation)
1: Written Analysis
- Identifying leading and coaching philosophy "in action"
- Comparing 2 additional contexts
- Highlight/create own philosophy
2a: Plan and Practical
- Create four successive session plans for placement
- Conduct one of the four sessions - submit video and summary
2b: Presentation
- Following industry supervisor feedback; Interpret and justify future changes/improvements for session
- Discuss placement experience and learning outcomes
3: Reflective Tasks Portfolio
- In class - peer feedback
- Key learnings feedback - self/peers
- Placement reflections (pre-determined themes)
Assessment Components
The internal assessment/exam ratio (as stated in the University Calendar) is 100:0. There is no final exam.

Workload
This paper is worth 15 points which equates to 150 hours across the semester. There are approximately 48 hours of contact time. There will be 60 hours of Work Integrated Learning (Placement) and 65 hours allocated to assessment.
If students are prevented from attending classes for any reason, and expect to be absent for more than four days, they should advise their lecturer as soon as is possible. If students know in advance that they will be absent from a lecture, or if they unavoidably miss a class, the paper coordinator or lecturer should be advised.
