This course is designed to continue the development of communication emphasizing the four language skills ­ writing, speaking, listening, and reading. Students will be able to communicate in Spanish ­ converse with others, express their own ideas in writing, and read and understand what others have written. Also, SPNSH231 Students improve their thinking skills by comparing the words and cultural contexts which they are learning, with those of their first language.

Learning outcomes:

By the end of this course, it is expected that students will be capable of understanding daily phrases and expressions frequently used related to areas of experience that are particularly relevant to them (basic information about themselves and their family, shopping, places of interest, occupations, etc.)This course targets the approximately equivalent to international standard with reference to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages of –A2

This paper will be taught in one stream. Students will attend three lectures of one hour each and a one-hour tutorial that is followed by the second lecture on Tuesday.

Adapting learning assignments should be done before doing the classes as a pre-lesson.

All the class materials are online via the Connect program from Tu Mundo ebook. which students must purchase from the link on Moodle.

Students who cannot physically attend face-to-face tutorials can join via Zoom during the tutorial session in class.

Class and tutorial attendance are essential to make good progress in the language.

Tu Mundo 3d- McGraw Hill -this is the ebook package used in SPNSH131-22 therefore those students who were not enrolled in this course will have to purchase it. However, we will be continuing with the same book for trimester B.
