What this paper is about
The main focus of the Professional Experience is for you to demonstrate in a secondary school context that you can plan, teach, and assess to address the needs of your learners. You must demonstrate satisfactory and consistent professional development in relation to:
the Professional Standards (evidenced through the Key Teaching Tasks and Culminating Integrative Assessment)
the specified Learning Outcomes for this TEPRO paper
This paper continues the progress from your first TEPRO paper, developing the dispositions and readiness to teach. Although you will continue to be supported in a school setting, there is an expectation that you will spend less time observing and co-teaching than your first placement, with a focus on planning, teaching and assessing sequences of lessons as well as having an opportunity to plan and teach a unit of work for students. The focus of this paper is to ensure you can teach independently in readiness for your first year of teaching.
The paper supports you in linking the TEEDU and TEACH papers to the practical aspects of teaching in a secondary school setting. You will explore current research, reflect on your own experiences, and review and discuss practical scenarios equipping you for your Professional Experiences.
How this paper will be taught
This paper comprises the Professional Experience components of two pairs of Base Day visits (ProfEx 2.1: Thu 27 - Fri 28 July, Thu 3 - Fri 4 Aug) and a seven week block (ProfEx 2.2 Mon 7 Aug - Fri 22 Sep).
As well, the paper will be supported through 2 hour workshops. Moodle will be used for announcements and communication with lecturers.
